The Longsands Beach Soccer Cups closed out an unforgettable weekend of community engagement, player development, and high‑level competition on the sands of Tynemouth Beach. After two days of action, the North East proved exactly why it is ready to become a major part of England’s growing beach‑soccer landscape.

Building the England Beach Soccer Pathway
This event wasn’t just about competition — it was a strategic first step in establishing senior and youth pathways that connect directly into the England Beach Soccer national and talent‑identification programmes for men, women, boys, and girls.

For the first time in over 10 years, Northumberland hosted a beach‑soccer event of this scale, marking the beginning of a five‑year development plan to embed the North East as a key region in the national beach‑soccer ecosystem.

The long‑term vision:
A thriving North East beach‑soccer community
A recognised talent hub feeding national squads
Integration into the new National League launching in 2027
Sustainable annual events that grow participation and performance

Delivered With Strong Partnerships
The weekend was proudly sponsored by Forza, and delivered in conjunction with DryRobe, Northumberland FA, and commercial activation partners Donnis. Together with England Beach Soccer, these partners have laid the first building block of the 2026–2027 national strategy, setting the tone for what’s to come.

Girls’ Competitions – U10 • U12 • U14 • U16
The girls’ divisions delivered some of the fiercest competition of the weekend. From U10s through to U14s, the North East showed that the girls’ game is thriving, competitive, and full of emerging talent.
The performances across all age groups highlighted a bright future for girls’ beach soccer in the region. A huge thank you to every club that attended and congratulations to all of our Girls’ Cup winners.

Senior Competition – Longsands Senior Cup
The senior event brought intensity, experience, and quality to the sand. Local teams including former Newcastle Academy players battled hard across the weekend, but it was a travelling London club East Sheen Football Club that made the journey north and lifted the Senior Cup trophy, adding a brilliant competitive edge to the event.

A Foundation for the Future
This weekend was more than a tournament it was a statement of intent. The North East is ready to grow, ready to compete, and ready to become a central part of England’s beach‑soccer pathway.

England Beach Soccer, Northumberland FA, and Donnis are excited to build on this momentum as we move toward 2027 and beyond.
