Isle of Wight & Portsmouth Fly the Flag for England in Nazaré


England’s representation on the European stage grew stronger than ever in 2026, with Isle of Wight Beach Soccer Women and Portsmouth Beach Soccer Men both competing in the prestigious Euro Winners Cup in Nazaré, Portugal — the Champions League of beach soccer.



Both clubs delivered performances that showcased the progress, identity, and competitive spirit of English beach soccer.


The Isle of Wight Women continued their remarkable rise on the European stage, securing a top‑10 finish for the second consecutive year at the Euro Winners Cup 2026.



Tournament Results

• 4–0 win vs Torroxeño

• 4–5 loss vs ACD O Sótão

• 8–0 win vs Eger SE

• 0–0 (3–4 pens) vs Cadizfornia

• 4–4 (2–3 pens) vs Havana Shots


Their consistency across both group and knockout phases earned them 10th place overall, reinforcing their status among Europe’s elite.



Ranking Impact

This performance will further elevate their world ranking, currently 26, and continues to position the Isle of Wight as one of the fastest‑rising women’s clubs in global beach soccer.


Their blend of homegrown talent, international experience, and the support of Elite Beach Sports has made them a flagship for the English women’s game.



Portsmouth Beach Soccer Men – Growth, Grit & Global Progress


Portsmouth entered the Euro Winners Cup as England’s best third‑place domestic qualifier and delivered a campaign full of resilience, learning, and standout moments.



Tournament Results

• 4–13 loss vs Lenergy Pisa BS

• 3–2 win vs KFUM Stavanger

• 3–7 loss vs KFUM Stavanger (second meeting)

• 1–5 loss vs Rostocker Robben (23rd/24th place playoff)


Portsmouth finished 24th overall, gaining valuable experience against some of Europe’s most established clubs.



Ranking Impact

Despite the tough draw, their win over Stavanger and overall participation will improve their world ranking, currently 66, as they continue to build their European pedigree.


This campaign marks another important step in Portsmouth’s long‑term development and strengthens England’s presence in the men’s European circuit.
