England Beach Soccer U16 Talent Pathway team celebrated victory in Porto Portugal taking Gold. The sun-soaked sands of Porto witnessed something special: a squad of young Lions who didnât just compete, they conquered. England Beach Soccerâs U16 Talent Pathway team stormed to victory at the prestigious Madjer International Cup, going undefeated and bringing home gold, glory, and a glimpse into the future of our national program. England U16 were congratulated by former Manchester United and Portugal legend Nani on their brilliant performances on the sand. A Captainâs Legacy: Oliver Flood Leads the Charge From junior hopeful to U16 champion, Oliver Flood has lived every chapter of the England Beach Soccer youth journey, and written his name into each one with silverware and standout leadership. Calm, composed, and fiercely driven, Oli didnât just lift the trophyâhe lifted the standards. As he graduates to the U18 programme, we salute a captain whose development has been exceptional and whose leadership has left a lasting mark. FULL CIRCLE MOMENT FOR ASHTON COX At age 7, Ashton Cox stepped onto the sand for his first-ever beach soccer tournamentâand walked away with the MVP. Eight years later, heâs done it again. But this time, itâs on the international stage⌠and the award came from Madjer himselfâWorld Cup winner and one of the greatest to ever play the game. Not only did Ashton lead England U16 to gold at the Madjer Saraiva Cup, he claimed Top Scorer and MVPâagain. From Isle of Wight beginnings to global recognition, Ashtonâs journey is proof that belief, grit, and legacy-building start young.

England Beach Soccer: Building Legacy on the Sand in 2025 2025 was a landmark year for England Beach Soccer. From grassroots pathways to international triumphs, our community came together to prove that the sport is more than a game itâs a movement. Across 19 events in 10 locations, over 11,400 participants joined us on the sand. National championships showcased talent from ages 6 to 18, while our safeguarding-first approach ensured every child, parent, and coach felt safe, supported, and inspired. Youth Pathways Champions of Tomorrow Our youth development program continues to shine. More than 9,000 young players engaged in pathway events, with the England U16 squad crowned champions in Porto, winning all seven matches. Eight of those gold medalists began their journey as Under-8s, a powerful testament to the strength of homegrown talent. Growing the Game in Schools Beach soccer is now part of the curriculum in four pilot schools, with 48 schools engaged nationwide. Students are learning teamwork, resilience, and joy through the sport, laying foundations for lifelong participation. Coaches, Referees & Inclusion We trained 32 coaches and 23 referees, all certified in safeguarding and first aid. Development hubs in Cornwall, Sussex, Isle of Wight, Hampshire, and Devon are ensuring local growth. With 46% female participation and rising representation from underrepresented communities, inclusivity is at the heart of our mission. International & Club Success Our womenâs national team celebrated their first victory against Belgium, while IOW Beach Soccer Club secured 4th place in Europe. On the menâs side, Portsmouth Beach Soccer made history as the first English team to compete at the World Club Cup. Sustainability & Partnerships Every event in 2025 included a community beach clean, and our zero plastics policy is setting new standards for eco-friendly sport. With 14 commercial partners and 8 delivery partners, including County FAs and universities, weâre building a strong foundation for long-term growth. Looking Ahead to 2026 The journey continues. Exclusive: Alisha Millerâs England Beach Soccer Debut Alisha Miller From futsal courts to sun-soaked sands, Alisha Millerâs leap into beach soccer has been anything but ordinary. Fresh off her debut for England, we caught up with her to unpack the transition, her standout goal, and whatâs next in her growing international career. From Twitter Scroll to Talent ID Triumph âI absolutely hate off-season!â Alisha laughs. âThe end of football and futsal had me itching to play again. I spotted a Talent ID Day post on Twitter/X and thought, âIf I can play on grass and court, surely sand canât be that much harderâŚâ I went down to a sessionâand absolutely loved it.â Translating Power and Precision from Court to Coastline Her futsal background gave her an edge. âIâve always been a powerful player, and thatâs helped on the sandâthough my top speed definitely dropped!â she admits. âTactically, both sports share quick transitions and no time for hesitation. You have to be mentally switched on at all times.â Alisha hit the sand running in Spain The Pride of an England Shirt Stepping onto the sand for England was unforgettable. âItâs always a proud moment representing your country, especially for the first time. Iâm quite serious in games, so I probably didnât look very happyâbut inside I was buzzing.â Alisha highlighted the squadâs close-knit spirit Debut Goal Drama In true debut fashion, she found the back of the net. âI actually forgot how I scored until watching it back,â she laughs. âThe ball bounced kindly, and I focused on making solid contact. The coaches had talked about using my strength, and to score with that in mind was awesome.â Challenges on the Sand âThe weather!â she jokes. âI burn so easily, so Spain was a challenge.â But it wasnât just the sunââIâm known for my fitness in futsal, but sand is humbling. It took time to figure out how to move efficiently.â Spain edged past England 2â1 A Squad That Lifts Each Other Confidence is key, and Alisha credits her teammates: âThe coaches and players have been incredibly supportive since day one. Knowing people believed in me made all the difference.â England Beach Soccer Lionesses Hope for the Future of Womenâs Beach Soccer âI didnât even know beach soccer existed in the UK until recently. With more facilities and opportunities popping up, hopefully the sport will continue to growâand weâll see the next generation of England players coming through.â Inspiration and Influence Her futsal roots run deep: âJunior Roberti, my first futsal coach at York, taught me the game and made me fall in love with it.â For beach soccer, sheâs still finding her influences: âI love watching Portugalâs menâs team. They play on the sandânot just in the airâand it feels a bit like futsal.â The Spanish bullring became a blazing beach soccer arena Goals and Ambitions Whatâs next? âLearn to bicycle kickânumber one!â she says with a grin. âI didnât expect anything when I started, so now itâs about technical growth and playing for England more.
